Adding a product

Adding a product
The adding of product in a particular manner is necessary to identify and also for checking the stock of it.

In this we will provide the details of the product like name, SKU, kind, Alternate name.

SKU
  • SKU means the Stock Keeping Unit, this is used for the easy identification of the product which is stored in the warehouse.
  • SKU is also called as the unique identification number.
Kind
This is used to mention whether the product is stock or non stock or custom or supplies.

Alternate Name
The alternate name is used to give a different name to the product as the product name is not unique and it is called with different names in different places.


Details
This is used mention the completed details of the product as follows

Type/Form
This is used give the details that whether it is a slab, tiles, linears, sink etc...

Category/Nature
  • This gives the details whether the product is granite, marble, onyx etc...
  • The sub category is used to mention the margin in selling the product.
GroupThis gives the idea whether the product can be available anywhere or less available i.e., Basic, Premium, Semi-Precious etc...

Base ColorsThe base color means not the actual color but the nearby color like black, brown, blue, etc...

OriginThis gives the details about where the product has came from and where it has been produced.

Thickness
The thickness gives the details about the product size because the product can be produced in different thickness.

Series number


Measurements
This is used to give the measurement details of the product.

UOM Group
  • UOM means the Unit of Measure, it is used to create a group of measurement for different products.
  • The units of Measure is used to specify the units according to the product.
Non-Serialized
  • These are the inventory that are not tracked in the system at all, the inventory will not be given any bar code and the supplier details.
  • These kind of inventory will be sold as it is according to the quantity.
  • The pricing of this inventory is done by the total cost divided by the stock present in the ware house.
  • For example, if we bought an inventory of sand of 10 tons at a cost of $100 and on the second daily if we bought the same inventory at a cost of $200, then both the cost price is added and divided by the stock and the average price will be taken.
  • Examples of Non-serialized inventory are sand, gravel stones, bricks, the construction items etc...
Indivisible
These are the inventory which should be sold as like that which we bought it from the supplier. 

Selling Prices
  • In this used to give the different prices for the same product, which is used as reference for further.
  • The different prices will be given so as to sell it different prices for the Dealers, Distributors, Fabricators etc...
  • This is the important field for the business by which we can calculate our margin on the different customers.


Default Affected Account
This is used to maintain the different sub accounts, which helps us know the profit margin on the different products.



GL Inventory Link Accounts
This account is used to store the cost price of the products that has bought has inventory and the payment for this inventory will be carried forward from this account.

GL Income Account
This is used to store the income obtained by selling the particular product and stored in the specified account respectively.

GL Cost of Goods Sold Account
This account will store the cost of the products that has been sold from your inventory and that account will be affected.


Reorder Levels
This column is used to enter the details of the stock of the product present and also to mention the reorder stocks.

Safety Stock
This field is used to mention the details about the stock that is kept as safe side, so that which can be used in the emergency situations.

Reorder Stock
This is used to mention the reorder amount of the stock, which is regularly sold by the company.

Lead Time
It is called as the time gap between the order placed for the product and delivery of it.

Assigned Bin/ A Frame
This is used to assign a location for the safety stock in the warehouse.


Purchasing Info
This is used to give the details about the supplier of the product.

Preferred Supplier
This field is used to give the details of best supplier for that product.

Generic Name
This is the common name given by the supplier for his identification and it will changed from customer to customer.

Generic SKU
This is SKU given by the supplier because some of the customer will use the SKU instead of the name of the product.

Purchasing Units
This is used to mention the measuring units of the products according to the supplier.


Alternate Units of Measure
This is used for the conversion of the units of products because for different customers the unit of measure will be different.



Website Module
This fields are used for giving the details that how to display the product in the website of the company.


  • Notes are given if there are any important things of the products.
  • Special Instructions of the product will be given so as to give the information to the customer.
  • Disclaimer means a ​formal ​statement saying that you are not ​legallyresponsible for something.
